Note: w/o Wilbur w/o Wilbur Helena A. Cushman, formerly of Kirby and most recently of Greenville, N.C., passed away at Vidant Medical Center Thursday morning, March 7, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born in Kirby, Vt., on Sept. 1, 1921, one of seven children born to Theodore and Alphonsine (Bedard) Croteau. She was predeceased by her husband Wilbur over 67 years ago. Helena worked as a kitchen worker at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center and also worked in retail at Zayres. She moved to North Carolina six years ago and made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Al Smith. She was predeceased by three brothers: Robert, Paul, and Archie Croteau; and by 1 sister Evelyn Santy. Funeral services will be held in St. Johnsbury this Tuesday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at the Sayles Funeral Home. The Rev. Ann Hockridge will officiate. Burial will be in May at the Grove Cemetery in East St. Johnsbury. |
